Corel VideoStudio Pro 32 Bit is a video editing program full of features for beginners and professionals. You can easily splice together clips, add scene transition effects and even export in an HD format. Whether you're making a video to share on streaming sites or a professional video to burn on DVDs, this program can help clean up your raw footage.

Three Programs

Core VideoStudio Pro is actually three programs in one and each serves a different purpose. Movie Wizard is made to quickly compile your footage and clips together into a movie. It lacks detailed clipping and editing tools, but it makes movies faster than the other two programs.

Next is DV-to-DVD Wizard. This program takes your footage and prepares it for a physical DVD medium. This requires altering the file and ensuring the length is appropriate for a DVD. Depending on the speed of your burner and length of the movie, this can take anywhere for 20 to 60 minutes, but you're left with a DVD that you can use in any DVD player.

Last is VideoStudio Editor. This is where most of the editing happens and where you'll spend most of your time. All other features discussed throughout this review will be concerning this specific program.

Storyboard

The storyboard at the bottom of the screen is where you will organize clips for the movie. Corel VideoStudio Pro's storyboard is extended for easy viewing and organization. Within this section you can add frame effects like freeze frames, customize the title or add text and even balance the audio so it's never too high or low.

There are many tools in this section and it's large enough so that you can easily view the clips and move them as necessary.

Audio Tracks

You can set multiple audio tracks for narration or music on top of your raw footage. It's easy to set each track at different volume levels and there are even some effects for the voice.

Filters and Effects

There are multiple filters and effects loading into this program. You can add star wipes for scene transitions, use sepia and grayscale filters, choose from multiple title screens and add text titles with ease. This gives your movie some flair and provides a professional presentation for any movie despite your experience level.

Resource Hog

Corel VideoStudio requires a massive amount of resources to run properly. This can be especially hard on laptops. Be sure to close all other programs before running VideoStudio as anything in the background will make it even harder to run this program. Not only that, but it can be prone to crashes. You should save often so that you don't lose any progress.
